A kitchen carpet spill can be anything from your child's cup falling off the table to the muddy footprints through the room. Dealing with the kitchen spill is really what separates the professionals from the rest of us. But, it doesn't have to be hard to clean these spills from your carpet. In fact, with a little common knowledge, a little know how and some quick action, many of the spills that happen can be corrected fast and easy. So, how will you react when that plate goes crashing down to your new, expensive kitchen carpet?
First, use common sense. It is important for you to take quick action and for you to be smart about the first steps you take in cleaning a kitchen carpet spill. In other words, don't let them sit. The longer the product sits on your carpet, the deeper it will go. A large spill that is allowed to seep into the carpet, into the padding and reaches the floor boards is one that will take extensive cleaning. You will need to move quickly and effectively.
Different steps can be taken to remove the spills from the carpet. One thing that remains the same throughout all of the spills that will hit the kitchen carpeting is that you should not rub them. Many times, rubbing will rub them into the fibers of the carpet. This makes them less likely to come off. Instead, consider blotting. Blotting is an action of putting small amounts of pressure on the stain to allow the cloth or paper towels to soak it up. This does not work the stain farther into the carpeting.
As for how to get the kitchen carpet spill out, consider several methods. First, you should try to remove as much of the debris from the floor as possible. Wipe up as much as you can. Then, you can go several routes. Depending on the type of stain it is (you can reference the specific stain and its solution elsewhere here) you will find a number of solutions to try. If you have a handy carpet cleaner, by all means this may be the best option as well. Lastly, there are a number of excellent products on the market that you can use. This will help when it comes to difficult spills but unless you have them on hand, waiting is really not an option. The kitchen carpet spill is one that needs to be handled quickly.
Since the kitchen carpet spill happens in one of the most used rooms of the home, you will need to make sure that you do a thorough job of cleaning it up. And, because of the amount of opportunities that wait in that kitchen as far as spills go, it is also important that a complete cleaning of the kitchen carpet happens regularly.
It happens to the best of us. Something inevitably hits the floor and we end up having to find a way to get the kitchen carpet spill cleaned up. You can do this better when you are armed with knowledge and references to help you though. Quick, precise action will win the battle against the kitchen carpet spill.
